Community Engagement: Strathcona County

Rebuilding Fort Saskatchewan

Although a heritage site and cultural ‘hub’ of the community, only four pillars remain of what once was the actual fort in Fort Saskatchewan. Located in Legacy Park and once home to the Royal Canadian Mounted Police, this former local gathering place was in need of some help to restore and preserve this cultural icon.

Fort Saskatchewan ground breaking

“Total E&P Canada is pleased to be the founding partner of the Fort Saskatchewan Reconstruction Project,” says Jean-Pierre Dordan, Vice President, Upgrader, Total. “With our $50,000 investment, we are supporting the cultural heritage of Fort Saskatchewan by helping to recreate the history of the community while reestablishing the foundation of a vibrant meeting place for its citizens.”

“We look forward to helping put the ‘fort’ back into Fort Saskatchewan,” adds Jean-Pierre.
